From last year to this year, the concept of 800V high-voltage platform or 800V architecture is very popular. Before explaining what 800V architecture is, we must first understand why the charging of new energy vehicles is so slow.
When a pure tram is full of energy, the distance it can run is almost the same as a fuel car with a full tank of oil. Range anxiety is no longer the anxiety range itself, but the efficiency of turning to anxiety to supplement energy.
That charging power = charging voltage * charging current
The laws of physics tell us that to shorten the charging time, there are two solutions, either increase the charging voltage or increase the charging current. This leads to two solutions: high voltage adaptation of cars and piles, or high current adaptation of cars and piles.
From the perspective of the whole vehicle, the scheme of adapting high voltage is mainly to raise the voltage platform of the whole vehicle to about 800V, resulting in the electrical architecture of the whole vehicle called 800V high voltage architecture. Under the premise of the national standard DC charging interface current of 250A, the voltage is increased from 400V to 800V, and the charging power is equivalent to doubling, thereby shortening the charging time.
However, in addition to brand self-built piles, more than 95% of public charging piles in China currently belong to low-voltage piles below 500V. The car can be charged at 800V, but it is useless. It must be equipped with a corresponding boost device to realize 800V charging on these low-voltage charging piles.
Another problem is that the car can be charged at 800V now, but it cannot be used at 800V. To give the simplest example, for a long time, there was no air-conditioning compressor on the market that could carry such a large voltage, so when using it, the voltage had to be reduced back to 400V. This is called a partial 800V. Fortunately, with the large number of applications of silicon carbide, electronic components that can carry higher voltage began to appear in batches, and the era of real 800V has finally arrived.

The national power supply is guaranteed during the peak summer period.
The meteorological department predicts that the temperature in most parts of China this summer is higher than that in the same period of previous years, and the situation of ensuring power supply in summer is grim.
